19th Century Gray Blue Antique Oushak Rugrug no. 8665
Description
A phenomenal late 19th century antique Oushak rug in pinks, corals, blues, greens and gold. Excellent Even Pile Condition. Antique oriental carpets and rugs from Oushak have been carefully chosen as highly esteemed objects in important European homes. The vogue for such carpets was designs such as medallion and large scale ovoid or star-shaped medallions enclosing split-leaf rumi and floral vinery displayed on fields of delicate floral tracery. In either royal tones of brick red, terracotta, deep blue and gold or colorful, bright colors that continued to grace European interiors.
