An early 20th century Persian Bibikabad rug with a striking Gray Blue Field and soft red border. Accents in brown, silver and ivory. Bibikabad rugs come from the Hamadan village region of western Iran. Meaning "the village of grandmother," Bibikabad families have been weaving fine, thick rugs for over a century. They typically have vibrant coloring, all-over patterning, and small scaled hooked/ paisley designs. Each knot is used symmetrically and tied by hand.
