Pictorial Animal Motif Vintage Turkish Rugrug no. j2303

Description

Wonderful Turkish Anatolian accent size rug depicting a pair of large lions in between an infamous Turkish commander. His name is inscribed on the rug. The inscriptions on the rug make us believe the rug was given as a dowry gift. The piece is from the middle of the 20th century (circa 1920-1930) and was acquired from a Turkish collector who had it in their collection over the past half century or so.
